Taking the first step toward therapy can feel significant. Below is information about how appointments are arranged and what you can expect.
Sessions are usually 55 minutes and can take place either in person in Ludlow, Shropshire, or online across the UK, depending on what suits you.
You’re welcome to begin with a short introductory consultation if you’d like to ask questions before booking a full session.
Your first session is an opportunity to talk through your difficulties in detail and to get to know me and vice versa. You will also get a feel of how it would be to work with your therapist - trust your gut response. There is no expectation that you continue therapy unless you are absolutely sure you found the right therapist for you.
I will also want to know what you would like to get out of therapy and will tell you more about the different approaches and my way of working.
At the end of your first session, we will have formulated an initial therapy plan together.
For you to get the most out of therapy, it's best to initially have weekly appointments at an agreed upon time, but it is of course possible to schedule in therapy less frequently if we agree that this is suitable for your particular situation and will help you to achieve what you are looking for.
Therapy will be short-term (6-12 sessions) or long-term, depending on your individual needs and what you would like to get out of therapy. We can agree to work together for a fixed number of sessions, or keep it open-ended.
Please do get in touch in case you have any
further questions or would like to talk things through.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Online Therapy is not suitable for you if you are in crisis.
If you are contemplating suicide or believe you are at risk from harming yourself or others, please contact your GP, the emergency services by phoning 999 or go to your nearest Accident & Emergency department.
